True N-Scale Gunships!

The word is out and the word is that all of the old minis cast in 1/3 scale due to cost vs value reasons are being recast in full N-Scale. Here's the quote directly from Matt Ragan on Reaper's forums: "All the 1/3rd scale flyers are slated to be redone. APCs as well as gunships" The Dragonfly, which should be available in May, will be the first of these "full-size" models.

They come in three flavors: 1024x768, 1280x1024, and 1600x1200.  entriesWallpapers.zip Some of the entries listed more weapons than the XCAV2 chassis could accomodate, so for those I just tried to get the loadout as close as possible. Up next - a wallpaper showing the winning entry, the Corvus, in all its PBG-blasting glory.

CAV 2 Open Beta Test Announced

Over the weekend Matt Ragan posted on Reaper's forums that CAV 2 would be moving into the open beta part of the testing. At this stage the beta rules will be open to anyone who wants to download them. They want feed back not only on how the game plays out, but also on how they are written out and worded. Erion cut and pasted a copy of the post here on Mil-Net.

Matt Ragan just let us know that the CAV 2.0 Open Beta document is available in the Featured Downloads section of CAV HQ. For anyone who hasn't had a chance to participate in the closed Beta, this is a chance to see the new incarnation of CAV which utilizes the R.A.G.E. system first seen in Warlord. This signals a new era for the game we know and love. Also avilable is the first chapter of the upcoming CAV novel, Heavy Words. Jump over and check them out.
